It’s been a big year for Spud!

Our sponsored pup recently celebrated his first birthday on July 23, marking an exciting milestone in his journey toward becoming a working guide dog. From puppy-raising and training to learning new skills and, of course, getting plenty of playtime in, Spud has been busy growing into the job ahead of him.

Most recently, Spud took another big step toward his next chapter. After some time at the kennel, he headed home with Miss Donna for a little well earned rest and recovery following a routine surgery. He enjoyed a bath, some playtime, and plenty of attention, and is now spending a couple of weeks taking it easy while sporting his temporary cone.

Once he’s fully recovered, Spud will be headed in for training, where he’ll begin the next phase of his journey toward becoming a working guide dog.

We’re excited to follow along as Spud continues to learn, grow, and prepare for the important work ahead. We’ll keep sharing updates and cheering him on every step of the way!

Keep leading the way, Spud! 💙🐾
