Position: 1st Shift Straightening Operator
Summary: The function of the Straightening personnel is to perform all job duties as trained for this position to meet the Company’s goals.
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PERFRERRED:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Two years production experience. - REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
· The sense of sight, colors, speech (English), and hearing are required.
· The physical requirements are standing or walking within the plant areas, bending, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift – occasional seated duties.
· Most of the time will be spent in a non-smoking plant environment, with moderate noise and with a controlled temperature and moderate levels of non-toxic fumes. Will work with low level abrasive fluids or chemicals, such as lacquer thinner, etc. Additional time may be spent throughout the plant in various departments doing fill in relief work as required.
· The normal workday will be from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional hours on Saturday or later in the day as necessary. The hours may be long when specific projects are due and some extended schedules may be necessary. - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following requirements and duties are considered essential to the Straightening position. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time-to-time at the discretion of the Management.
– Maintain smooth and successful integration of all activities between the Straightening area of the plant and other related departments.
– Pre-straighten raw embossed pieces on the urethane roller and uphold safe machine operation. Responsible for maintaining consistent pressure and table angle.
– Maintain and operate the Pneumatic Straightening machine, check for defects and maintaining the air-pressure stamp machine and bench area. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance according to the PM schedule to ensure specific operational performance.
– Maintain and operate the Time Saver machine, checking belt deflection, height and wear. Perform straight lining of stainless steel pieces similar to a #4 finish. Must ensure belt height to prevent part evacuation and to produce quality parts.
– Process all required paperwork.
– Responsible to know, understand and practice all safety, storage and material handling policies and procedures associated with the Straightening area of the plant.
– Maintain a high level of competency with all Straightening equipment to achieve the highest quality results possible and preview new techniques to improve both the quality and quantity of work produced.
– Check the quality of all parts and maintain quality standards. Remove any damaged parts from the line.
– Initiate/respond to the AMT’s as required for turnbacks/reworks to assure corrective action takes place as defects in product are discovered.
– Maintain Department Schedule and follow priority scheduling of the same.
– Maintain a clean and safe work area, as well as an appropriate personal appearance for the workstation.
– Follow all government and company policies relating to safety, health, and environment.
– Must be able to remain focused on his/her work to reduce errors.
– Must be a conscientious, quality minded worker who strive for superior performance.
– Must possess the ability to successfully communicate with their supervisor, fellow employees, and support others as a team player.
– Will serve as a backup for receiving MRG parts and verify correct quantities and designations. Non conformances will be reported to supervisor and/or procurement.
– Responsible for completing scheduled training programs and must attend meetings, as requested, to keep informed on matters that affect the successful performance of his/her job, and of the statues of the Plant and the company as a whole.
– Demonstrates good judgement in reporting and resolving problems that arise and completes corrective action form when required.

Displays continued safe work habits and adheres to practices.
4. Quality: Evaluates employee’s work quality and accuracy in support of ISO 9001. Support and achieve company goals. Provide input and response to customer non-conformances. Implement effective corrective actions and show continuous improvement. Support of Customer to Customer quality. Identify AMT (Additional Material & Time) in your work tasks to ensure identification of added costs and time in making the product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following requirements and duties are considered essential to the Press Tender/Set-Up Back-Up. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time-to-time at the discretion of management.
· Responsible for a smooth and successful integration of all activities between the plastics production area of the plant and other related departments.
· Work assigned machines to load and unload materials, products and molds as needed. Must use prescribed lifting equipment for heavy molds & materials.
· Meet established labor standards & work according to a Department Schedule. Look ahead and make recommendations as needed.
· Ensure product is manufactured per quality plan and keep supervisor apprised of any issues in molding process.
· Maintain product that is running at the press and perform secondary operations as needed.
· Responsible to know, understand and practice all safety and handling policies and procedures associated with injection molding machines.
· Maintain assigned paper work and label product correctly.
· Responsible for requesting supplies in a timely manner to ensure on time deliveries.
· Responsible for the upkeep (general cleaning & equipment maintenance) and safe operations of the plastics production area of the plant.
· Must be able to remain focused on his/her work to reduce errors.
